About Me

 

Hi! I'm Georgia, the founder, owner and seamstress behind dfw Embroidery. I was born and raised in Dallas, Texas.  My family includes my loving husband, two adult children and our lovable, silly dog, Mia. I love sports and you can always find me cheering on all my hometown teams including the Rangers, Mavericks and Cowboys. Recently, I have been training for triathalons and half marathons, so you're always welcome to join me for a bike ride around lake. 

 

I began sewing at the age of 10. For my first project, I took over my mother's living room floor and kitchen table to create a simple, sleeveless, calico red and white print dress. Since then my talent, skills and passion for sewing have only increased. I earned a Bachelor of Science in Textiles and Clothing from the University of Texas in Austin (Hook 'em!). Since, I have worked as a seamstress for many theatre productions, in many costume shops including The Dallas Opera, for T.V. shows and commercial shoots such as Barney and Friends, and frequently collaborate with Interior Designers and work with individuals to create custom and unique items.
